Die with memories not dreams….reflections for a frequent visitor to Tanzania

Reflections from Sharon Hyde, Christ the King Lutheran Church, Memphis, TN

Sharon has traveled to Tanzania many times for mission trips…. seven to be exact. She also has a tattoo on her arm that says in Swahili…die with memories not dreams.

Saturday we were able to go to Mwadui School where we have seen firsthand the growth of rhe school for those suffering from albinism and other children needing to be there. St John Bingen home for children, new dorms and playground had been added since visiting 2 years ago. The children here thrive and still get to go home to their villages 2x a year. This is one of the mission s that is near and dear to my heart.

We went into a new village in Kahama Mwakuhenga for day 4 and 5 and it was very poor. We baptized 239 plus 36 at cinema. We are wanting to plant a church here and buy land.

The team went inro the bush today. We divided into 3 teams to go out and evangelize. Ashton and I were one team and we baptized 63. In total we baptized 131. We looked at land to purchase for a new church. Until then the government gave permission to worship under the big tree in the picture.
