It was a special day in May of 2013 as a new diocese was formally recognized, and Pastor Emmanuel Makala was ordained as the first bishop.

The new diocese was necessary due to the tremendous growth of the East of Lake Victoria diocese and many new members and churches. The Lutheran Church is the fastest growing church in Tanzania.

This labor of love represented the work of many hands to make this day special.
